I have the Plex windows app installed on 2 devices.
I start watching something on device 1 (Windows Tablet), I pause the content and lock the device (leaving plex open). The watch state successfully syncs to device 2 (TV) and I’m able to continue watching there.
However when I wake up device 1 back up the media there will not sync back, the video I was watching will still be paused at the timestamp i paused it at and will resync its old watch state to the server making older episodes of a tv show unwatched. I have to then manually stop the playback, mark the episode as watched and start the current episode.
Am I the only one frustrated with this? Any solutions? There should be a timeout of x minutes after which a device automatically stops playback and resyncs play state with the server.
Also happens when closing the app with the “x” button if streaming is not stopped. Why do I have to manage this and am not allowed the mistake of closing the window vs all other streaming clients for any other service that use reset the state of the client.
This also assumes I know in advance I will switch devices which is not always the case.
So if I “forgot” to stop playback on a device I need to boot up that device stop playback shut it back down and then I can watch on device 2?
