Resuming on different device not clearing partially watched status

Wasn’t sure which section to put this under. Is it an issue with the server, the device I started to watch on, the device I finished watching on, or all.

Anyway, I started watching one on my files on my iPad. About half way through, hit pause. The next day, I used my Roku to watch the rest of the film. On-Deck correctly showed me that I was already watching, and hitting play re-started at the correct point.

After finishing the film, the next time I started Plex on my iPad, it still showed the film on-deck, as partially watched. Opening Plex on my Windows 10 also still showed partially watched.

The server runs on a Linux CentOS 7.5 system.

Don’t use ‘Pause’.
Pause will keep the playback session open and the device which has the file paused will try to resume the playback at the paused position.

Use Stop.
The server will store the playback position anyway (at least if you haven’t played over 90% of the video).

That is totally counter-intuitive.

And if that really is the case, then it should ONLY show on the device you paused it on, not all devices. Showing it everywhere allows you to resume on any device, so any “changes” made should equally be broadcast to all devices.
