Watch the trailer feature slow to load and pausing

Using “watch the trailer” feature is very slow loading for a long time on both my shield devices (one acts as a server).

Once the trailer starts playback it pauses at times with the wheel-spinning.

I’m not sure if this is an issue just in Australia or if anyone else is seeing the same thing.

I do remember a month or so back the trailers were lightning fast.

Today tested Internet connection which is the same as usual 6ms ping with 43/18 Mbps.

Having the same issue on all devices.

Further investigation reveals the cloud service (video.internetvideoarchive.net 52.237.130.0) is not distributed internationally but only based in Chicago, US. This is causing lag due to high latency outside of the US. In my case from Australia south coast, 5-7 seconds before any pre-roll and/or trailer for movies start, making this feature useless.

Even though its a poor choice by the content provider, I’d say this is beyond the control of Plex so I don’t see this changing any time soon but would be happy to hear something from Plex support?
