"Watch together" on 2 to 3 local Rokus TVs from NAS?

Wanting to watch together a series of old music videos in mpeg4 format such that they simulcast to 3 local TVs using Roku Plex app for viewing. The “watch together” option is out of sync by a few seconds between the TVs even though I am running this on a local hardwired 10/100/1G CAT6 network. My main living room TV is patched back to the whole house stereo, so I would like / need audio from it to sync up to video at the two other locations.

Curious as to other suggestions and options. Thanks.

I’m not sure you’re going to find a fix for this.

It doesn’t seem to matter if I stream to someone 2,000 miles away or to my neighbor across the street.

If I look in the dashboard while the watch together file plays it’s always a couple seconds off

I don’t think it has as much to do with it being on the same network or distance as it does the function of how it actually operates.

That’s what I suspected. The app acts like it is reading the source file from my NAS from each instance running. Do you know if there is any freeware app to host my own Roku or Plex broadcast channel and just “oneway” stream it out?

I think with a Roku your only option would be to get something like a wireless HDMI extender which can get pricy quick.

A Chromecast might do something like this but I’m not sure. I Never used one but maybe someone who has one can offer some insight if they come along. That would be your cheapest option if it works

Even a split second delay could be annoying. EchooooEchoooEchooo
