Watch Together - Reaction Feature

I wanted to suggest a fun feature for Watch Together. Consider adding a reaction feature. A person can hit a certain key or something on their remote to trigger something like a few sets of emojis like :open_mouth::disappointed_relieved:. It’s a fun way to share feelings about the content you are watching without getting distracted by texting or anything. The emoji would pop up on your family/friends screen for a second. People can opt out on seeing reactions all together.

Of course, I would not want something like this prioritized over something like getting Plex to integrate Specials properly into TV episode playback…but it’s something to think about.

Please remember to hit the Vote button up top if you like the idea.

Thank you.

Nice. I came here to post this same suggestion. I thought it might be cool if the reactions floated up the screen briefly, like the live video reactions on some other streaming platforms.

As noted in our previous announcement, our existing Watch Together functionality will not be included in our new experience apps on launch, which are currently in preview and will be released broadly in the future.

As such, we’re closing related feature suggestions in order to give back those votes, so that you can vote for something else.

We do not preclude the possibility of offering similar functionality again in the future, as we also noted in our announcement. Should that happen, then feature suggestions like this one and others would certainly be considered during that development.

A new suggestion related to adding Watch Together to our new experience apps has already been raised and you’re welcome to comment or vote on that suggestion.
