Hi, can you confirm the version of the app you are using? And which clients?
I will check when I get home from work in about an hour and half. But it’s the latest BETA so I am assuming it’s the latest? I will confirm shortly.
As mentioned, I’m using an NVIDIA Shield where the issue occurs.
When I use the native PLEX app from my LG C9 and send a watch together request to someone it works as normal. It’s just the NVIDIA Shield that is suffering from the issue.
I just checked and the BETA version on my plex shield is 10.10.1.5986
The beta that has the fix is 10.11.0.119. If you are unable to download it from Google Play store, you can get APKs here: Android (mobile) beta release notes - #678 by PlexAndroidReleaser
Hey Justina,
Just installed the apk in your link and it is showing version 10.11.0.119. Sent a watch together session and the exact same issue is occurring.
The other person is getting the invite but then its left in limbo there. Same as before.
Hmm that doesn’t sound right. Can you confirm that both devices have the 10.11.0.119 version?
Both are on the same beta. Tested sending from my shield to their LG C3 and its the same again. Unfortunately I do not think this was fixed ![]()
They tried to send me a watch together session, and again I get the invite but then it’s stuck at the loading screen like in my previous post.
Ok thanks for letting me know, I will take it back to the team
@JZ4 could you provide the logs from both Android devices (if you can)? You can send them to me in a DM. Thank you
@Justina_plex Sent. Thanks
Thanks for sending me the logs. They do show that you have the older version of the app 10.10.1.5986 rather than the current beta 10.11.0.119. Could you check again to make sure you have the correct version?
Can confirm 10.11.0.119 fixed all watch together issues for all my Android users! ![]()
THANK YOU PLEX TEAM & Justina (of course) for speedy replies! You all ROCK.
Hi
So today using the same app version in beta - watch together seems to have repeated the same behavior…not sure what happened.
Worked fine yesterday night:(
Checked and the app is the same beta version
Not sure why it’s stopped working.
REALLY unsure why 2 days later it stops working. Client or app version didn’t change overnight. So odd to me.
I don’t understand how Plex broke Watch Together, but this was a major reason in why I used Plex and it’s depressing losing this!
UPDATE: Seems you all updated it surprise surprise on March 6th/7th and my device auto updated via Google Play store. My watch together stopped working again on March 7th whereas my post claiming it worked was MARCH 5TH. Downgrading the apk back to 10.11.0.X did NOT WORK.
You all fixed it…then BROKE it again on March 7th. Why are you guys messing with it so much? X.X
Still isn’t working for me, either. I’m on either Roku or PC, and my friend is on FireTV, which I believe is Android app, and consequently where the issue is. I’ve had her check for updates, but she’s not technically minded, so there’s no way she’s going to be able to sideload a beta apk. (Unless I’m mistaken, Amazon app store does not make betas available.)
Justina, is there any update regarding this? As someone else has said, this is one of the main reasons (if not THE main reason) I purchased the pass, so it’s very frustrating to have it suddenly go wonky.
Did a watch together last week with an out of town family member. Worked perfectly.
About a week to 10 days later, tried it again w/same family member and it won’t work.
I’m having the same issue, using Plex Web with watch-together on Google TV app, that unfortunately I updated last week ![]()
Just checking in to see if this is continuing to be worked on. It’s been two weeks since it was first reported. Can Plex at least offer perhaps a temporary Plex Pass for my friend so we can watch together with her using her iPhone? After all, it is a feature that was included with my purchase of the Pass, and one that we had been using on a daily basis, but can no longer do so. Can we please get an update?
Please don’t make this thread a personal plea for a Plex Pass anything. You are not the only one losing out on this. Fair enough to ask for updates, but that ask is ridiculous honestly
Sorry, won’t hack your thread. But you think it’s ridiculous; I don’t. It’s been over a week since we have heard from a Plex employee. There have been…three (I think) betas since the one that was supposed to fix the issue. If I bought a car with a radio or GPS in it, and suddenly one day they stopped working, I would expect the manufacturer to fix it asap. And this is not the first time this has happened. I started a thread about a similar problem a while back. I believe the problem was with Roku that time.
