Watching a show while it is being recorded?

Hi all.

I tried the Livetv/DVR option about 6 months ago, and found that if I was recording an OTA broadcast, I had to wait until the recording was completed before I could watch it. For me this was a dealbreaker, and it was back to KODI.

I was wondering if this was still the case? I love recording NFL games, waiting about 1.5 hours, then watching the recording, skipping commercials, and by the time the game is almost over, I’m caught up to live TV. I could not do this in the past!
