We would all love an 'Undo Update'

Tonight I have had to perform a full image restore to undo the horrendous access issue with the latest update. Easy for me even though it took me 3 or 4 hours to realise it wasnt my router/cables/interface/anyother bollox and all the while Plex saying Ohh its all your fault. The latest server update is a virus, it will kill your mind then your way of thinking. Just give your customers an undo function - now. I have posted earlier a Windows restore routine didnt cure the issue.

Keep in mind rolling back an update is not only about installing an older binary/application… you’ll also need to deal with rolling back any database changes linked to the updates “in between” – simply restoring a backup won’t cut it as that doesn’t contain your recent additions / changes / manual edits / updates to the watch history.

If you’re referring to the recent degraded availability of some central Plex components, temporarily impacting the access for some users… I don’t think that’s something you’ll fix by rolling back to an older version of the server application.

Good advice Tom I already covered that. What does that mean to a novice? Nothing, sweet FA so you are helping no-one. If Plex won’t even load up to get to settings, where do we go from there? I almost, ALMOST re-installed Plex then realised it would probably wave goodbye to the database so instead of arseing about copying Plex folders I just did an image restore from last week ( I have Windows perform an image backup weekly ). Contrary to your comments, there were two movies I didn’t expect to see updated as they were loaded up after this issue, but there they were, so it actually did ‘cut it’. I don’t think you understand what’s going on with this latest update so don’t patronise me, just look and listen to your customers and their problems.
