Still not working for me either. Just loops back to the sign in. Are the plex developers working on this? 30 days and no progress seems a bit much.
Might as well add me to this list too… Can’t login via Edge, using ip address rather than server name makes no difference. Does work now on IE11 but have to use my email address as it doesn’t recognize my username!
I can log but can only play movies convert to 320p not HD quality.
Same computer with Chrome Works ok.
Is it still broken can’t use Edge? For some reason works on Laptop but not my desktop.
UPDATE: Upgraded to latest official Windows 10 Fall Creators build. Microsoft Edge 41.16299.15.0 - Still having the same issue.
broken in safari 11 as well… same behaviour… redirects and looping… getting nowhere.
Not working for me in chrome or IE
Same for me, all up to date. IE, MS, and Chrome all login loop even using server ip address
It does not go in the right direction… Today, Edge, IE and firefox are not working any more. Still working Plex Media Player, and safari.
In the logs, I can see many error in TLS handshake. Is it related?
Please Plex team, fix this. If I cannot use plex anymore on all clients, what is the point of running a server?
Still occurring!
Microsoft Edge 40.15063.674.0
I had the exact same issue. Found a suggestion on Microsoft support site that worked for me.
I had to remove the IP address that Plex uses and simply replace with localhost. The IP address use to work and does in IE but not in Edge. Only thing I was able to do to make it work and not get stuck in the loop is to switch to localhost which for me in my hosts files is 127.0.0.1
http://localhost:32400/web/index.html
http://127.0.0.1:32400/web/index.html
hosts file entry
localhost name resolution is handled within DNS itself.
127.0.0.1 localhost
it works fine only if I use the name (localhost in my case) and not IP address.
Means I can’t right click in the system tray and simply created a bookmark for mow.
BTW I don’t have “Allow localhost loopback” enabled either that some others have done…
Should have stated the version I was using
Microsoft Edge 41.16299.15.0
Just to be clear the following is what worked for me and localhost is resolved in my hosts file to 127.0.0.1 but if I try using an address with the IP address it loops forever but if I replace the IP address with localhost which resolves to the same IP address it works.
http://localhost:32400/web/index.html
If I try and use ,my computer name it also loops forever. Only the above works resolving to localhost and having my hosts file with the 127.0.0.1 address.
Someone smarter than me might be able to explain why this works and the following don’t. The 2nd one being the name of my computer.
http://127.0.0.1:32400/web/index.html
http://dbx-xps8700:32400/web/index.html
Ah, so this is why my question was closed, still no fix, glad to see I am not the only one. This all started when the Facebook, google+ login was added, and also no way of getting Edge to remember your password, so every time you have to type it in again, and don’t say use Facebook, what if you don’t or want to have Facebook.
Here’s a tip Plex, scrap the new login page and go back to where it was, it worked fine in Edge then.
Same issue here not working with Edge. Was working 2 days ago. Cannot sign in just keeps looping.
Works fine on all other browsers.
this issue is still present in the latest build of Windows 10.
Windows 10 - Version 1709 (OS Build 17046.1000)
Microsoft Edge: 42.17046.1000.0
Plex Media Server: 1.9.7.4460
Everything works fine in Chrome Version 62.0.3202.94
I have the same problem.
Windows 10 (1709)
Last PMS
Please do something.
I had the exact same issue, but for no obvious reason it seems to work again for a few days now.
Maybe you should give it a new try
Same problem here… can access server from 4 different machines with Chrome no problem… with Edge we get “The server is unavailable” error.
Is Edge not supported?
Edge has some filter built in to thwart ‘DNS rebinding attacks’.
But it is misfiring at Plex’s (perfectly valid) use of the DNS system.
Therefore it won’t work to connect Edge to a local Plex server with ‘secure connections’ activated.
This has been reported to Microsoft already.
