Web Player black screen with audio on chrome

Whenever I try to play something in 4k from the web player in brave/chromium it just plays audio with no video. if i enable subtitles, the subtitles show but no video. If i change the resolution it shows the video but eventually it crashes and goes to a black screen no audio. Turning on the Automatically adjust quality (Beta) setting makes the video and audio work but eventually crashes too.

this only happens with 4k video, 1080p plays just fine.

any ideas? Thanks in advanced.

Adding this, when the automaticaly adjust quality is enabled, the video loads but after a while it gives this error.

An error occurred trying to play “Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl”.

Error code: s3014 (Media)
