I installed the WebTools 3.0 plugin successfully, a few hours ago today, and had it working and visible in the Plex Channels, and accessible via a web browser at diskstation:33400. I used it to install a few more plugins.
Then I found there was an update to Plex v v10.1.-something, notified via the Synology package centre. I updated, restarted Plex, and it said there was a later update available for manual installation.
I manually updated Plex to the latest 1.10.4602, and now WebTools has disappears from the Channels page, and I can’t see how to get it back. And it doesn’t respond on the web address either.
I have tried:
refreshing the page in the browser
clearing the browser cache and trying again
restarting Diskstation
re-uploading the WebTools.bundle folder by drag and drop onto the FileStation Plex/…/Plug-ins folder.
I have a Diskstation 214play, recently updated (just an hour or two before updating Plex) to the latest DSM version 6.1.4.15217 Update 3.
Is it no longer compatible with this version of Plex?
PS. Although the alternative YouTube plugin hasn’t disappeared from the Channels page, it no longer works giving the message This channel is not responding’.
Same problem here, after the plex update I can’t get webtools to work. I have tried:
deleting and re-installing the plugin
restarting plex
re-creating the docker
I’m working on an Ubuntu Server 16.04 with Plex installed in docker container, when I restart it the log says Error starting framework core for /config/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Plug-ins/WebTools.bundle.
Have tried to use the downloaded .spk package. When I run it as a manual install from the Package Centre, it gives an error and stops.
“Port undefined configured for this package is either used by another service or reserved for system use. Pleas disable or modify the conflicting service, or contact the developer to modify the package configuration.”
But it says it is only WebTools v1.4 - shouldn’t it be v3.0?
And furthermore, although Package Manager says WebTools is running and gives the right URL to access it, when I browse to that, I get another error: “This site can’t be reached: diskstation refused to connect.”

That is the version of the installer, not of WebTools.
Thanks - that clarifies it.
If you have the firewall enabled in DSM, make sure you open the ports for WebTools. Same goes for your router’s firewall if it is enabled.
I don’t have DSM firewall enabled, and I think I’d get ‘can’t connect’ instead of ‘refused connection’ if I had. I’ll double check though.
Also, whenever you get the “Port undefined configured for this package is either used by another service or reserved for system use. Pleas disable or modify the conflicting service, or contact the developer to modify the package configuration” error message, simply reboot the NAS.
That may be the solution - I will try shortly and report back.
Hi, I’m using a Seagate Personal Cloud here and I have two problems. So at first I was able to successfully install the WebTools.bundle and it appeared in my Channels page. I did the sudo chmod -i as well. Afterwards, I STOPPED ssh.
When selecting the box/icon for WebTools, it opened up another window saying to select one of the urls (one http and one https) but neither did anything. I even opened up a blank window and manually cut and pasted the urls and both came up as non-existent.
So I removed WebTools thinking the ssh was the problem and tried to reinstall it. Same process. I can open up Terminal and double check that WebTools.bundle IS in the Plug-ins folder - it’s there. but it NO LONGER shows up in Channels.
I’m using PMS Version 1.10.1.4602 and I have not updated it. So my two questions are 1) is WebTools available still to facilitate the UAS for my PMS and 2) why in the world is it not appearing on my Channels page like other bundles even though I can see it in the terminal window?

You probably have not installed it correctly.
Uninstall WebTools, then use the easy Synology installer to install it. I would recommmend that you update Plex also. 1.10.1.4602 is getting quite old now.
Can I use the Synology installer on the Seagate Personal Cloud PMS?
So Plex Media Server has been updated and WebTools reinstalled - can see icon/button now. But when clicked and new window opens, it says This Channel is Not Responding. Anyone else? PMS works fine in every other way.
Hi @ChuckPa, I use Synology package and I tried to install but the service is not running in the port 33400, I don’t’ know how to see some error log. In the package center the service looks running
