To start, here’s a breakdown of devices and server:
Media Server: Windows 10 - WIRED, server version 0.9.16.2.1827-df572f6. Running Windows Firewall and Windows Defender
Media Storage: WD Blue 4TB 5400 RPM
Router: Linksys EA7500 (http://www.linksys.com/us/p/P-EA7500/)
Switch: TP-LINK TL-SG108 Gigabit
ISP: Entouch (Gigabit)
Connected devices: 3 TiVo boxes - WIRED (Plex version 2.5.7), Roku 3 - WIRED (Plex version unknown, but just updated), Amazon FireStick - WIRELESS 2.4GHz (Plex version unknown, but just updated), various iOS devices - WIRELESS 5GHz, PS4 - WIRELESS 2.4 GHz
Ok, now that we know the equipment, here’s what happened. I had a bad drive (see Seagate class action) and decided to completely redo my system. Loaded a fresh copy of Windows 10 and popped Plex on. I do use this machine for school / work as well. I have multiple drives separated based on what I’m doing. For instance, all of my media is housed on one drive, OS is on another drive, school and work related functions on another drive, etc. All was working fine until just recently.
I can play the media files on my local machine without any problem. Windows media player as well as Plex find the files and play without a hitch. Metadata is correct and is updating as expected. On my Roku, Plex functions as it should. I’m able to load the files, watch them, and carry on. Recently, all other devices outside of the Roku have stopped functioning. They all return an error saying the server cannot be found. The exception to this rule is my iPhone. On my wireless network, I receive errors but through LTE, it works flawlessly.
I’ve taken multiple steps to try and resolve the issue. I’ve tried to disable the firewall, rebooted the router, uninstalled (completely) the Plex server application, reinstalled the Plex server application and rebuilt the database, signed out of all devices and re-linked, etc. Nothing seems to be working. Would anyone mind lending a hand before I start throwing things around the house? Thanks in advance.
