Went to bed last night, Plex worked, woke up, nothing works

Server Version#: DSM 6.2.2-24922 Update 2
Player Version#: Unknown Now (Explained Below)

So last night, I was watching some Big Bang Theory on my Samsung TV, using the Plex App. I turned the TV off, and went to bed.

Fast forward. Woke up today, puttered for a bit, and while a 3D Print ran it’s course, I decided to watch more big bang theory.

Turn on TV… Choose Plex App…

App says “User doesn’t have access to any shared servers or shared content”

Weird?!? Go to pc, check plex there, it works, make certain TV App is still linked, it is. Check TV App for update. Oh phew, there is an update, update app, turn app on again. Same error.

Go back to PC, log into Synology DS216J, app needs updating, download update, try to manually install, says it’s not compatible with my current version of DSM. Go to update DSM, I have the latest version.

Start googling the problem. Find out DSM made a change, I need a 64bit version of the Plex App. Download 64bit version, follow instructions.

Step 1. Uninstall old 32bit App. Done.
Step 2. Install new PlexMediaServer-1.16.5.1488-deeb86e7f-x86_64.spk 64bit app. Can’t install, not compatible with DSM Version.

Explicit Deleted

Step 1. Install update PlexMediaServer-1.16.5.1488-deeb86e7f-armv7hf.spk App. Can’t install, not compatible with DSM Version.

Nearly toss TV out, computer, and NAS drive out window with 3D Printer (it’s been a week in tech hell)

Come to plex forums, beg for help…

If you still have frustrations, I have a satellite dish and receiver you can also throw out the window for me. It drizzled last night. Reception gone. 30 drops of rain today. Reception gone. Know the feeling.

Open File Station - Plex share

Drill down until you see Logs

Right-click Logs -> Compress to Logs.zip (you may need give yourself permission in Control Panel - Shared Folders - Plex - Permissions tab)

Attach that zip here.

I don’t see anything called PLex Share under file station.

Doing this now. It seems to be installing. I will respond back shortly, once I know whether or not this issue persists.

Whelp, wish I had an explanation, but after re-installing the app in dsm, all seems to be working as it should.
