Western Digital is not providing updates to the Plex Media Server software that runs on their devices.

I know this isn’t the responsibility of Plex to provide those updates, was just hoping someone might be able to light a fire and get them to support the Plex software on their devices.

The latest update to the Plex Media Player apps on Android/iOS/TVs has broken the ability to use “Secure Connections” with the Plex Media Server running on the Western Digital MyCloud Home devices. Not cool.

Can anybody help? Who can I send a passive aggressive tweet to?

I recall seeing a tweet stating that WD was working an update, but I haven’t seen any news since.
WD Cloud Home was the perfect solution for a “Kids” streaming server.
Not so much any more.
Makes Plex look bad, as well as WD in general. Probably better if Plex just tells WD to remove the old server software instead of having an incompatible solution on the market.
