What do I need to do to make plex run faster on my network?

I often cannot use plex unless I reboot my media player ( Apple TV)
and or my wifi router.

some days it runs fast and I am able to play something instantly, and other days it just loads forever.

I am using a Synology DS218J. and it is directly plugged into my router.
is there any hardware items that I ned to buy to make the network faster? do I need to upgrade my NAS to a model with more RAM? mine currently has 512gb RAM
I justwant ti have an amazing experience using plex to stream my content around the house.

what about the ds918+? would that be suffienct in running plex smoothly?
I noticed the ram can also be upgraded.

Ok thanks for the info.
I’m just trying to make sure I get the right NAS. And that I don’t have to upgrade in a few years again because Plex can’t run on it.
