What does "Burn Subtitles" mean?

Want subtitles on everything possible (rather deaf)…

This refers to the behavior when a file requires transcoding while subtitles are enabled. It can be helpful if a client is having a hard time displaying certain subtitle formats.

This option won’t change if/which subtitles are automatically selected.
To influence that you’ll need to adjust your account preferences:

  1. open https://app.plex.tv/desktop/#!/settings/account
  2. click Edit next to the AUDIO & SUBTITLE SETTINGS section
  3. check Automatically select audio and subtitle tracks
  4. set your preferred audio/subtitle language
  5. set AUTO-SELECT SUBTITLE MODE to Always enabled
  6. Save your changes

Keep in mind this will only apply to items for which you haven’t yet manually selected a subtitle/audio track!
