I went to movie settings and turned it on. I then selected the number of movies for it to begin. When I go to the home page the collection section is empty. Not sure how long it takes for server to create the collection. But is this feature no longer working or available? Or do I need to go back to the old way of building collection files on my NAS?
Should be working / no changes.
Did you refresh your library‘s metadata after applying this change?
Automatic Collections will only work when the metadata for a movie is retrieved. So any newly added movie will:
- Check to see if it is part of a collection.
- If it is, it then checks to see if you have the other movies in this collection already on your server.
- If so, it checks your “Minimum movie count” setting to see how many you must have before it makes a collection.
- If you have enough, it then creates the collection, downloads the description on it and poster, and adds this movie (and all others on your server) to this collection.
WARNING: If the collection field is locked for any movie, it will not add that movie to this collection automatically. This can result in empty collections, or collections that are less than your minimum count.
You can refresh metadata for a movie to have it check for collection info, so any existing movies can be updated.
