Maybe someone here can shed some light on my question.
I started plex sonic analysis when they first released it and I have been doing it up until this Friday October 22nd 18hrs a day.
So my question is what happens next?
I barely see any of my music showing similarities like they said it would so what happens after it’s done processing albums
The part that’s visible to the eye will be entries for sonically similar artists/albums in your library. In Plexamp you should also see Mixes for you – however keep in mind that’ll also depend on your play history.
Most of the functionality will be under the hood – Plexamp will e.g. use the results of the sonic analysis in artist/album/track radios for “smoother” playlists.
as noted, most of the sonic stuff is currently used by plexamp.
but in plex web (and maybe other clients), you should see ‘sonically similar’ sections for artists/albums.
the difference between similar artists and sonically similar, is that similar comes from related artists metadata, while sonically similar comes from the actual audio analysis similarities without any metadata.
Ok thanks…but crazy thing is when it started it started with all my albums I have …but since it stopped or got down to zero not all my albums are sonically matched and nothing is showing up in console about music or sonic or any other keywords to filter to let me know its actually doing something
It’s not available on all platforms.
Next to the Plex Pass requirement, you’ll need a machine running Windows, macOS or Linux (64b; this includes most NAS devices) as well as a non-ARM based server. This is due to some technical dependencies of the underlying machine learning library used by Plex which is only available on those platforms.
