What is the Plex Trash can for?

The trash can shows that Plex can no longer see the file associated with a library item. However it’ll keep the library record until you empty the trash (action on the library level: ... > Manage Library > Empty Trash).

This is helpful so you don’t lose any manual edits in your library just because a file is temporarily gone (e.g. manually added tags, collections, artwork…).
