sometimes I just want a radio like experience with plex where I just load it up and have button to click to click. Or I would just like to listen to POPULAR music not every song on an album or by that artist. I am really struggling with plex music it just seems to not do what I want it to.
You need to have this ‘current, popular’ music in the library. i.e. you need to own the files.
Then you can
use the ‘Library Radio’.
or an ‘Artist Radio’
There will be more of those ‘Radios’.
Another approach:
You could ‘rate’ your songs. Then you build a ‘smart playlist’ which includes all tracks with minimum 3 stars and and which were added within the last 3 months.
(Of course this will only work if you add fresh music all the time.)
Is the “radio” only on the mobile app I dont see it on chrome or windows install
Also is there a way to like import ratings from somewhere else?
Artist Radio is available on every Artist preplay page
Library Radio is available if you switch to the Discover page of this library.
Directly on the Home page of the web app. Click on the dropdown selector at the top, which by default says ‘All Libraries’. Select here your music library, to get the Radio buttons.
So I got the Discover-Music and there are no stations I have options like “more in pop” “most played in april”
Your library must have a minimum size.
Your library must use ‘matched’ music. Of particular importance are last.fm data.
If none of your music is matched, then there are no last.fm data available for this artist and albums. So the Radios cannot work.
Almost all of my music is matched and I have the radio option on the Iphone app what is the minimum size?
If the radio is available on the iPhone, then it must be available in the web app.
Are you using the hosted web app? app.plex.tv
Did you add Tidal music into your library?
Have you tried the latest server release? (current is 1.15.5, you are using 1.15.3)
Do you use any web browser add-ins, which are not disabled in the web app?
I have not tried the newest release I read some people having issues with it and was going to hold off on it. and the only add-in I use is an adblocker. Btw I have a total of 1764 tracks I assume that is enough.
I seem to remember an issue which was only fixed most recently.
If you disable all Online Mediasources, Radios won’t appear.
And disable AdBlock on plex.tv and plex.direct
You won’t be needing it.
I updated and still have the same issue.
Could you temporarily activate Tidal on your account,
https://app.plex.tv/desktop#!/settings/online-media-sources
restart the web app and try again?
