What is the support model for PLEX ?
Is it simply the Community Forums ?

While I’m impressed with PLEX, I must say that I’m not entirely happy with the only source of support being
the community forums – particularly if that is the only support for Plex Pass members and even worse,
support for a feature which requires Plex Pass (such as Live TV / DVR).

I’ve posted in the Community Forums because I’m having repeated trouble with Live TV where I get error
messages and am unable to tune to a live stream.
Community members are participating, some lamenting they have the same issue, some asking questions
to better understand the scenario in which the issue occurs, etc.
To my knowledge, no one from Plex has joined the thread.
One person did suggest that the issue seems to go away if you downgrade to an older version
of Plex Media Server.

This is the support good or bad it is what it is…

I looked over briefly on your other post, have you tried the hdhr plug-in? Instead of the Plex live TV twonky system?

The forums are the only support Plex provides. The advantage is that users as well as Plex employees may see a post here abd try to help. The disadvantage is the the Plex people ignore a LOT of posts and many questions go unanswered and problems go unsolved because of Plex’s indifference.

I have had few persisting problems but I am fairly computer literate and that helps a lot.

Plex people seem, mostly, to spend most of their time dreaming up new “features” and they do not seem to much care about solving issues or fixing bugs.

Fortunately there are a few, too few but a few, Plex employees that actually interact with the community and there are several “ninjas” that interact a lot more and even more just regular users that often help with many problems.

All in all most issues related to things that can be fixed by the users are addressed pretty well. However actual bugs with the Plex system or things that should be changed get actively ignored by Plex and Plex often says that problems users have are because the users are simply “doing it wrong.”

Plex works quite well as long as you do things Plex’s way. If you deviate from that and want help then there may be users that can help but expect zero help from Plex. Plex says “it is the Plex way or the highway.”

I was unaware of a HDHomeRun plugin for Plex.
I don’t see any official ones, so I am guessing you mean a manually installed channel.
What plug-in do you recommend for HDHomeRun Live TV ?

This one

Plex’s support is “best effort”. If it works your are lucky, if it doesn’t they won’t care.

Real support by PLEX doesn’t exist. Thats very sad, but they like to live from money plex pass users are spending - but they are ignoring them. Fire and forget - that’s PLEX
