I’ve been around here for a while because I was initially hilarious about PLEX. But as with all software these days, the bugs maybe decreasing, but paternalism (from programmers who aren’t able to read my thoughts (luckily) is not (in some cases even increasing) and functionality constantly lacks more and more any logic, so that one has to do more and more manually. And I really don’t need any software for that (which makes more work than taking it away from me).
I can only guess why: too many cooks spoil the broth. Cooperation obviously doesn’t work the way you (the ICT industry) do it. And open source… to be honest: look at the crap. This only works for criminals.
The trigger for this criticism is that I’m increasingly annoyed that the PLEX server has been reacting more and more sensitively to moving files or changing names for a good year now, and although it usually recognizes the moved files correctly, it classifies them as new and puts them at the top of the list (partially even marked as unseen) and sometimes you even have duplicate entries, although the file name is congruent.
Your wannabe AI isn’t working. The old algorithms were better. No idea what you’re doing and why the project is increasingly becoming a bunch of, sorry, ■■■■. Its annoying…
There is a lot more, e.g. frequent problems/instability with the players, especially on the Amazon FireTV, but also on LG devices…
More setting options would be nice, especially regarding the start page and the display of “last added”. The possibility of adding/displaying an own “search” on the start page would be helpful, for example, so that you can use your own filters. as filter/search function is already integrate it should be easy.
In addition, more precise and better information about the functions NEXT TO THE FUNCTIONS, i.e. an explanation of what causes which setting, would be great.
Just as constructive criticism. I think it’s a pitty how a really good product is going down the drain…
