What remotes are everyone using?

Been using Plex for a while now on various devices and just got a PS4 and installed the Plex player on it.

Not keen on using the dualshock controller for using Plex, doesn’t feel right at all and doesn’t have pause, skip etc buttons on it. Tried a USB IR remote I had, worked great in the playstation menus but as soon as I launched the Plex app it stops working all together. From googling and this forum apparently this is well known as these types of remote emulate the keyboard and some apps don’t support that…

So, what remotes are you all using? (Please don’t say HDMI CEC as I have a cheap old telly that doesn’t support that…)

cec wouldn’t work even if your tv supported it, and I’m pretty sure I read somewhere on reddit that the official ps4 remote doesn’t work either. I use a flirc and my own regular tv remote for netflix but plex doesn’t support keyboard input so it doesn’t work. Funny enough on my htpc the windows 10 netflix app doesn’t support keyboard input but the plex media player preview does. Maybe someday the plex devs will get around to incorporating support for alternative input sources but for whatever reason as of now the ps4 plex app only supports input from the ds4.
