Bluetooth Remote for PS4

I have the Sony bluetooth remote for the ps3 and it works great. Works with netflix and the standard ps3 interface.

I just bought a Bluetooth remote for the ps4 (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/261741545959?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

It works fine in the ps4 interface, and for Netflix, but does not work at all in plex. Is this an issue within the ps4 plex app?

Idk, but your regular tv remote will work with the ps4, so long your tv supports HDMI-CEC.

Im using my Samsung remote to control Plex on the ps4 and it works great.

I use a projector, and run audio through an amplifier. I dont think they have that support.

The problem seems to be the fact that Plex for PS4 does not support keyboards. These PS4 media remotes basically act as a keyboard, and it works great as long as the app supports it. Until they add keyboard support, these remotes are essentially useless in Plex for PS4.

Edit: According to the response I got from Plex on Twitter, keyboard support is a limitation of the PS4 right now. Apparently the PS4 doesn't pass keyboard input the app.

How frustrating. Logitech finally updated the Harmony Hub to support the PS4, and I can't use it with Plex.

I know what you mean, I'm in that same boat. We wait forever to get the Harmony working with PS4 and it only seems to work on the PS4 menu, disc playback and Netflix.

I'm trying to think of a workaround, but unfortunately I can't. I have a Titan One, I was hoping I might be able to reprogram my FLIRC and use the Titan One to remap as PS4 controls, but unfortunately not. There must be some way I can do this :D

I think it may work if I set up MaxAim DI on my PC, using the Titan One connected to the PS4 and use Flirc from the PC. But that would require my PC being always on, the controller being always connected during use (not too much hassle) and a USB cable going from my PC to my PS4 (a bit of a nuisance)

I guess at this point I'm waiting for the official PS4 media remote (made by PDP) to come out, maybe then Harmony will be able to have actual controller commands instead of emulating a keyboard.

So why do Bluetooth remotes work fine in the Netflix and Amazon apps? If the Plex app is the only PS4 app that doesn’t work with these remotes, the Occam’s razor says the problem is most likely with the Plex app, not with the PS4 or the APIs it makes available to apps.
