when using non-automatic setting Whats on now will not display on Home screen when selected. Continue watching only displays movies no tv series and on deck is completely missing.
Manually Managed Home will be going away from April 22nd, so may I suggest migrating to Automatically Managed Home?
Why are you getting rid of manually managed? Automatically managed stinks. Why can’t we have the choice of which one we want to use?
Manually managed was not widely used, and maintaining two different home screens is not ideal. Switching to having one Home Screen meant we could improve it quicker, and add features in a timely manner that would benefit everyone at the same time. Using the new server-side controls, server owners can now have control over what content from their libraries appears on the Home Screen for themselves, shared users, and on the library’s Recommended screen. Yes, I’ve looked. The one big issue is no control over the Live TV/DVR hubs. I don’t want recent channels on my home page, but there’s no way to turn it off.
Plus I can’t stand the merged continue watching and on deck. An option to keep a row for ONLY in progress videos would be much appreciated.
Live TV & DVR is a little tricky as it’s not a library, so needs to be handled in a different way, but we are discussing how to handle that internally at the moment. As for the merging of On Deck and Continue Watching, we’re still looking into how the underlying desire here might be best addressed, but we don’t have anything specific to share right now.
I wonder how much of that is because people didn’t know it existed?
I know very few, if any, of my users pin libraries. They don’t know that it’s an option.
Non techy people are not the type that will experiment with settings. They are afraid to break it.

I will say that I am one of the few that enjoyed the customization of the home screen and will miss it. With that said the new format is workable except for the previously mentioned LiveTV and DVR. It would be nice if you could configure it as the other Libraries. As for my personal preference I would prefer that just the “Whats on Now” hub be displayed by default.
