I know this is happening to a few people, but I’m seeing if someone has a solution.
Every time I add a song from Tidal to my media library, it adds it and then “refreshes metadata” and completely changes the artist and the title of the song.
I’ve been through settings and a tonne of forum posts and I see that it happens to any album or EP or single that isn’t in MusicBrainz - as that is where Plex retrieves metadata.
Is there any way of stopping it from refreshing metadata? As the only solution I’ve found is adding every single one to MusicBrainz and editing manually the titles and artists while you wait for MusicBrainz to accept your entry.
This would be okay if it was one or two albums/EPs/Singles, but it’s happening to hundreds - even though prior to adding it to my library, it’s showing correctly.
Surely there’s a way of stopping Plex from trying to match all Tidal-added content. As I want it to use the Tidal metadata rather than the incorrect metadata it thinks it is on MusicBrainz.
