When adding New Plex User to Plex Home, the user doesn't appear in Plex Home & Missing LiveTV option

I Invited a new user to join my plex server, The invite also included the option to Add to Home". User accepted the invite and can see standard media and appears in “Manage Library Access”.

However, under Restrictions, the option for Live TV is missing. If I click the Home+ icon for the user it says they are already part of my Home. When I Click on “Plex Home” I do not see the user listed.

This is occurring for any recently added users.

Inviting regular plex accounts into a Plex Home requires a Plex Pass for the server owner.

I am the server owner, and I have a Lifetime Plex Pass. I have added users in the past successfully, but recently, trying to add any new users results in them not being listed in Plex Home, even though it says they have been added.

In restrictions it does not show option to add live TV. Regular media from the Plex server appears in their account.

It might simply be that the invited users haven’t accepted the invitation into your Plex Home yet.
Tell them to go to https://app.plex.tv
(after logging in with their own Plex credentials)
then click on their avatar picture in the top-right corner
then on “View Profile”
then on the “Requests” button

I can confirm they accepted the invite.

Also, if I go to plex Home and try to send an invite to that user, it says they are already part of my Plex Home, but they are not listed in the user list.

I can send a video, but I’m not comfortable sending a public video of my server config.

I am having this exact same issue and it is occuring for my regular users also but the most messed up is the Home user accounts.

I had an issue with a corrupt database, made a completely new server, but it seems like all my previous users were STUCK in limbo or attached to my account somehow, some can get normal access after i add and remove them about 5 or 6 times, others cannot get access at all yet their accounts say “user is already part of your home” even after forcing the account off my server, removing access, removing friend, trying to re-add does nothing.

is there a way to reset my server admin account to unlock or free all these other accounts? 1 person has had to already make a new account in the passed to get around this bug. any help would be great, or just a hard reset on plex’s side would be awesome lol

Symptoms described here match what i am experiencing.

The key piece is that Users are denoted as part of Home, but without being listed in Home tab, so i cannot add Live TV to that account.

Here is a few examples of my specific issues, i am assuming this is happening a lot since recent updates so to help troubleshoot (for both us and plex lol) and in hopes i can successfully recreate the issue on demand, so we can find a process / pattern that can fix this on our servers.

Pic 01 shows the WebTools-NG info for the users who DO NOT SHOW UP on my Home users list, cannot use plex pass, etc, all users experiencing same issues, only HOME users also, they were prior HOME users on my old server also

Pic 02 to confirm that my 1 user was i was able to get to show up, many many hours of adding, deleting, removing friend, and readding to my server in every single combination later, nothing solidly worked, just happened to appear in the home users group finally lol so not able to recreate, have tried 3 times now with others, none could be added to home users

Pic 03 shows one of my users (an uncle who lives with me and i have permission to share his user id for this project) whos account showed NOT on HOME users group, also shows the ADD TO HOME USERS group quick link in their profile on my server…

Pic 04 here is that 1 user i got back onto home users group, confirming what WebTools shows me that they ASE IN FACT in the home users list, and the quick link to put them into the home users IS NOT THERE, working for this 1 user account, all others have home symbol

Pic 05 ok, the actual error message now, every single user ive tried except ecto up there, lucky guy lol, i receive this error message user is already part of your home, yet they are not, and confirmed in multiple ways they are not, and all of them cannot use plex pass benefits from home group for more confirmation they are NOT in Home group

EDIT: i should specify, as per this forum threads original post, none of the users except ecto and myself, the admin account, appear in the Home users list on my server settings, but 1 strange thing for my users, they could all see the other 10+ accounts the very firs time they tried to log in, and then i had them sign out, they could only see themselves, thus not other home users, ecto can see me i can see him

I can confirm, I am having this exact same issue. I granted the a user access to my library. They accepted and are able to see/use the library. I then add them to my plex home (I have a plex pass).

They never show up on my plex home but if I click to add to home button I get the message that they are already in my home.

Any help to resolve this would be appreciated.

So I tried the solution in this post PLEX home is failing

And it worked. The user can only accept the plex home invite by click the link that only comes to their email.

My users are not getting any emails except friend requests when trying to remove and re add that as friends.

If the home invite is only sent via email, then how can you resend the email?

Clicking the email invite worked for me too. Just curious to know if there was a way to resend the invite if it got deleted.

i also would like to know this, or if plex has a way to reset locked home accounts, like a form request even, anything to get my family back onto my server. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I am having the exact same issue. The behavior of app.plex.tv does not match the documentation for adding home users and every time I try to add a home user, all it does is invite them for library access. Then if I try to add them on the Plex Home screen again it says they are already part of my Plex Home - they are not. Currently this feature either does not work at all or requires a bunch of undocumented hoops to be jumped through. Hopefully this will be fixed soon.

I’m told this should be mitigated.
Direct the affected users again to their Profile page, then click on “Requests”.

If you want to invite additional users, I recommend you first to verify their email address with Plex. Make sure they can receive emails from plex.
Upon an invitation is extended, they should get an email with a link in it, which can also be used to accept the invitation.
