When creating a library, have all Title and Sort Title metadata set to the filename

Server Version#:4.66.1
Player Version#:

I have all my video libraries set up as Other Video and I am trying to get all of my files to have Title and Sort Title be exactly what the filename is, with no metadata from anywhere (including the file’s own metadata). I generally use the Folder view, and I only want to see my own filenames when I’m looking at the library. For the most part (80+%) that is the case, but for maybe 20% of files, I have unpredictable stuff showing up as the Title when the files are displayed.

I can generally fix this one by one just by editing the file and pasting the filename into the Title and Sort fields. But what is a solution that will make the Title and Sort Title exactly what the filename is for every file?

Thanks.

Check the settings for Local Media Assets. If enabled, Plex will read embedded metadata from MP4 files.

Settings → Agents
Look in all sections. If Local Media Assets is checked, deselect it.

When finished, refresh the metadata for the libraries.
