I tried recording a show yesterday after it had started. Opened it up in Live TV and hit Record. The Record button doesn’t turn red, and on the show details it just says “Recording Scheduled”. No recording actually happened other than the “Live TV” recording, and no show exists in the library. If I go back into Live TV and watch the show, the record button is still not red, but when I click it, it lets me alter the “scheduled recording” (i.e. the recording that should be happening right now!)
What am I missing?
I’m on CentOS Linux with Plex server version 1.18.3.2156
“Recording scheduled”, yet the show is on and has 2 minutes left, and no recording activity. If I click “recording scheduled”, i see “This Episode”, grayed out. Allow Partial Airings is checked.
If the episode has already been recorded in the past it will not record it again and the record button will appear not to work (and scheduled recordings will not record either). Check your library of recording and see if S1E10 has already been recorded.
In my opinion Plex needs to fix this and give users an obvious choice to still record the episode or not record it and there should definitely be an error message that says “this episode is already in your library, do you still want to record it?”. Most users are going to have no idea what is happening and think the software is broken and give up.
