When scanning, one show begins to appear in the library then is gone a few seconds later

In my TVShows folder each show has it’s own subfoler by show name. Under that is folders for each season. In a season folder is the episodes named “SxNN - Episode Name,avi”. AVI for this show, anyway. For some reason the tv show, “Bewitched” is skipped when creating the library, when rescanning, and even if I specifically add that folder.

Thoughts?

My bad. Seems the the conversion tool did not add the first part. Not doing this manually, what is good tool to ensure it does it?

If you’ve many movies/shows to name, there are tools that can help. Filebot is popular. The free version of Tiny Media Manager works quite well. There are many others as well.

TMM Renamer Patterns:

  • Show Name: ${showTitle} (${showYear})
  • Season: Season ${seasonNr2}
  • Episode Name: ${showTitle} (${showYear}) s${seasonNr2}e${episodeNr2} ${episode.title}
  • Movie Name: ${movie.originalTitle} (${year}) {tmdb-${movie.tmdbId}}

PowerRenamer in Microsoft Power Tools is helpful for simple renaming with pattern matches or regular expressions. It makes quick work of tasks such as adding a year to file names, removing undesirable text from multiple files, etc

PowerRenamer example. It searches the entire tree. You could launch it against /tv shows and it will search all shows. There is probably a limit at some point (out of memory, etc), but I’ve used it to rename 30 - 40 files at a time.

I’ve used Tiny before and it is how all my files got sorted for Plex in the first place. When I specifically add only the Bewitched main folder, it does want to change the subfolders from
“Season # Complete” to “Season #”

Then for the files it shows them in the old format “1x01 - I, Darrin, Take This Witch, Samantha.avi” and it’s suggested renaming to “Season 1\Season 1 - S01E01 - 1 I Darrin Take This Witch Samantha.avi”

So how do I get it to be “Bewitched - so1e01 - I Darrin…”

Ah. Being the free version it can not find the Show Title, so I hard coded it temporarily in the rename format. Easy solution for one show.

TMM free version should find the show title.

Check the scraper settings. Make sure Show Title is checked.

Make sure you have the renaming patterns correct.

Except for show year, the settings are the same
