Can you clarify what the behavior of the commericial marking setting should do when I play that recording? Is it meant to quickly skip by the full commericial or all commericals that may have occurred with one fast forward click? And because its a 3rd party product its still represents PLEX to us users and purchasers of the PLEX software so I am not sure what that point means. The point is what is the usefullness of that setting if what I observe is true because without that setting on I can still fast froward 30seconds at a time also.
I am sorry my answer was really about automatic skipping of commercials - the DVR Setting being set to “Detect and delete commercials”
I will need to look into what marker values are being stored
I will move these posts to a new forum topic as this is a separate matter from the issue of detecting commercials not working
There will be a link in the old forum topic to the new topic here once the posts are moved
In the meantime, could you get me media info xml for a number of recordings with such multiple commercials so that i can see the values stored
To get media info xml - you access the recordings library through Plex Web and then select a media item eg an episode or a movie and the Get Info
and View XML
- see Investigate Media Information and Formats | Plex Support
Select the media info xml that gets displayed and copy / save into a text file. Zip the media info xml text files and attach please
@theeiman I moved the new query into this separate topic
(Moved from Detect and Delete Commercials no longer working - Live TV & DVR - Plex Forum
