When using user PIN entry on PS4, others can see your PIN as you enter it. Create button combo PIN

When logging in with PIN for the first time on PS4 (or similar console without a keyboard), allow the user to setup a button combination PIN on the controller that can be entered instead of PIN so that others in the room can’t see you selecting each digit on the screen. I can’t count how many times I’ve had to make roommates look away from the screen every time I enter my PIN, it’s gotten to the point that they refuse to look away.

Same with Roku.

I agree. However, there should be a push notification to the app installed on Android/iOS and one would Deny/Approve and/or be prompted to enter the PIN on the mobile device.

Same with XB1 and Fire Stick. I agree.

Same thing for the FireTV app. Please implement button combo to unlock, like how the child unlock pin works. Up=1, Right=2, Down=3, Left=4, Select=5. This should work for most devices with basic wheel remotes or D-Pads on game systems controllers (like Playstation, XBox, etc…).

The way it works now I have to send my kids out of the room every time I use Plex so they don’t see my PIN. Its a real hassle.

Same issue here, with the Xbox and Roku both. Not nearly as useful to have a pin at all.

Yup, Plex is not alone here. Literally every streaming platform (e.g., Netflix, Hulu, Prime, etc…) does this and man it has to be the dumbest things ever. Why would any developer think that his would be okay. It completely negates having the PIN in the first place. Like build the world strongest safe, but with no lock. Fantastic!

The best option to solve this is to have either an authenticator toast (e.g. Microsoft or Google Authenticator) or an in-app (Plex app on phone) prompt the user phone.

Also, not everyone is using a gaming console. Not to say the Plex and other platforms should not create such an option, not just the only option.
