[Feature Request] Hidden Pin Entry

Hi,

Apologies if this is in the wrong format as its my first post but my biggest problem with Plex is that when I’m showing off Plex on my FireTV to friends they all get to see me move around and type in my pin via the keypad on the screen clear as day - can this be done in a more hidden way?

This has been mentioned a few times before and I agree with the request. I envision it this way:

You would access the Plex app on your phone or tablet. Have a “library” section that has icons for all your Plex clients, you choose the device you want to open with a password. Once your phone/tablet is synced with the client you want to use, a light, or some sort of indicator comes on (client and device) so you know you are activating the correct client. You type the password on your phone/tablet (hidden from prying eyes) and you are in.

If you don’t have a phone/tablet, you could do the same by opening your PMS with a lap/desktop and go through he same process. Sound like a great option for us to have!

I don’t think we need to re-invint the wheel here. Playstation, Roku, Amazon Fire, all have figured out how to do this. On the screen it shows you which button on your control corresponds to which numbers. Ex: up = 1 right = 2 down = 3 etc. So that you key in your pin on your remote and the people watching the screen don’t know what physical buttons you are pressing. It works great on all of the devices I listed above (and i’m sure more), I really wish Plex would take family security more seriously and fix this blatant security problem.
