It seems to me the Apple TV and ios are always the last to get new features. The option to auto skip commercials was added to Android / Android TV and a few other clients without a timeline for ios. Any idea when we will see this for ios?

My guess is not anytime soon.
Playback is broken as hell on Apple TV. Plex are still trying to employ someone who can crate a working client and fix several issues.
There are two or three features that are “pending” right now and most likely won’t be implemented until the Apple TV can actually play media.
I think so far we have lipsync problems, stutter problems and audio dropout problems. I’m sure there’s more but don’t recall as I’m way past caring.
Spatial Audio issues?
Yep that would be another.
