About two weeks ago i updated my Synology server but it became unavailable after the update. So i deinstalled it, went back to an older version and used it until now.
Today i tried to update again as i thought that the problems might have been solved by now. But again my server isnt available anymore after the update. In addition to that i must have deleted the old version and therefore can’t go back right now. Where can i find older versions?
I really regret the purchase of Plex Pass right now. The last 2-3 month pretty much everything went to ■■■■. Firtst it started with the Player on my AppleTV 4k constantly having to buffer, while i could use my FireTV 4k on the same ethernet cable without problems. And now i cannot update the server anymore…
Open FileStation
Navigate to the Plex share.
Drill down Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server
Right-click Logs and then Compress to Logs.zip
Attach the ZIP file it gives you.
I will see what is happening. It should be pretty easy to get you running again.
This isn’t really what i asked for. Anyways, I hope this is enough, but i really don’t want to leak any personal information about myself inside the logs. There are some critical errors in com.plexapp.system.log.
Download links to older server versions would be appreciated.
I responded about older versions of PMS because of: 1) Thread title 2) Where can i find older versions? in the first paragraph of your post.
Now, to resolve this, May I please have the full contents of the Logs directory? I am not seeing what I should be seeing at all. The above ZIP shows me two files. PMS would have much more if PMS were actually running prior to updating.
If you wish, you may PM the full ZIP to me.
Please also include a link to this thread so I have reference to it.
No, you did not respond to my initial question, as i still don’t have any clue where i can download older server versions…
And I only uploaded these two files as they seemed to be the most obvious ones fitting the problem. I didn’t upload the whole folder as I didn’t want to skim all the files for personal information (e.g. email, external ip, other stuff that might be inside,…)
Network timeouts everywhere. The network is unstable. One moment communication is fine, the next it is not. Switch misbehaving? One of the ethernet ports used has a loose / bad connector? (unlikely but happens)
PMS could not get a valid certificate. It asserts there is no current certificate either. (manually deleted?)
A short time earlier PMS had a cert and it disappears. Confused here.

Has anything changed in network configuration or physical connectivity ?
PMS configuration / settings changed regarding the network?
No there were no changes in the network. So if there are some issues, they were already there before the update and the problems. Plex worked flawless before the update. Didn’t work after the update.
The certificate error showed up after i restarted the server a few times. I didn’t delete any certificate.
But i deleted and moved back the preferences.xml once because i read it somewhere in the forum. Now the original preferences.xml is in use.
