Where did the go to Season option go?

So where did the ‘go to Season’ option go?

When viewing an episode, (I am sure) there used to be 2 options, go to Show and go to Season.

Now there is only an option to go to Show.

This means more clicks to get back to the Season Screen. I have to go back to Show and Then Select the season again. (Which is just annoying)

Is this a new ‘feature’ / expected behaviour, or a bug?

Personally if you needed to remove one option to make space for Watch Together, then remove the ‘go to Show’ rather than ‘go to Season’, surely you are much more likely to want to go back to the Season you are watching, than the complete show. (But maybe that’s just me)

I’m not sure I can follow…
With the new look and feel… isn’t the episode view the same as the season view? At least from what I have seen, all episodes show in a flat list and the season selection is 1 swipe up away…

This is on a Sony android TV, so no swiping involved. Will post some pics shortly.

My bad… I had somehow confused this to be about Apple TV and had already wondered about the version.
I noted in Plex for Android TV 8.4 the feature is still there under the More button – don’t currently have 8.5 installed.

(Can only go to the Show, so don’t see any way of getting back to the Season List without going back to the show first…)

Could I ask what options you have in 8.4, I could sideload 8.4 and switch off auto updates for now, but if this is a new feature, then there is not really any point, as it will just re-appear when 8.5 hits release status.

Thanks, so there is not some limit of 3 items. so now just need to know if it’s a bug or a new feature…

Reported this to Plex… I suppose that’s what beta versions are for.
Not sure if there’ll be a fix for 8.5.0 or if it’ll be in a future update.

As mentioned… if they apply the new look & feel we already got on the Apple TV, this should help streamlining the UI and take away 1 level of navigational depth. Then again… no ETA.

hmm, so 8.5 has hit release status. So does it still have this bug? I guess it probably does.

That might be ok, but I would prefer they added that before removing the existing functionality without a replacement.

So 8.6 beta is out (checked on 8.6.0.20023)

and still no seasons… (and no obvious changes to the look and feel.)

See there is yet another beta, wow, they are coming thick and fast…

This one promises Updated media detail screens with new unified platform designs

So will see what this one has to offer once it reaches, or I may just sideload if I get impatient.

Edit:

got impatient and sideloaded and yes that now removes the need for the go to Season in the More option as all episodes are listed and the seasons are available at the top of the screen
