I’ve finally resurrected my Plex server after several months of slumber and two moves, and after running the various updates, I can’t log into the local server to manage it or see content. It’s just… gone. I can connect to it manually by IP address via one of my TVs, but if I go to the server IP address the way it was previously done (:32400/web) it just kicks me over to plex.tv and my server is nowhere to be found, nor does there appear to be any way to get it back.
What on earth has been done to this platform during my server’s hibernation? This used to be ridiculously easy to manage, and now that core functionality seems to have completely evaporated, or at the very least, been buried in a deep dark hole. Meanwhile, the support site’s answer is the absurdly unhelpful “Managing both your media as well as your Plex Media Server in general is done through the Plex Web App.” which just sends me back around in circles.
I found a bunch of stuff stashed in /var (seriously? WTF, Ubuntu?)
Server is local on the LAN, using private RFC1918 IP space. Doesn’t seem to matter if I try accessing it from local subnet or another subnet on the network.
