Where is force transcoding option?

Hello!

I've been navigating around the entire forum searching for how to fix my problem,

Finally got the solution,

I can see my subtitles appear in the movie details, but when i select them, i can't see nothing in the movie, just the movie without subtitles.

My subtitles are srt and, as some people said here, i have to force transcoding.

But i'm lost like Piscine in the movie Life of Pi in the sea.

I can't find that option, can someone tell me where is it?

Thanks!

Under the settings tab in the Plexconnect/ATV interface.

"the settings tab in the Plexconnect/ATV interface. "? WHERE IS THAT?

If you have Plexconnnect running, open the Trailers.app on the ATV. Across the top you will see the Library, Channels, Search, and Settings tabs. Select the Settings tab and you will see a list of preferences.

The preference for force transcoding has changed recently. It is now called “Transcoder Action” which offers 3 options: Auto, Direct Play, and Transcode. Select Transcode to force transcoding.

on google tv, settings seem to be different:

there's a toggle button for "direct stream" (it's on)

one for "direct play" (on)

and one for "use new experimental transcoder" (on)

turning each one of them off has not solved the problem (DTS sound not playing - no transcoding on-the-fly)

HELP!

Ketzef, if you are using Google TV you should probably be asking your questions in the Google TV Plex Client forum. Not in the Plexconnect forum.

Going to necro this thread and hijack it at the same time, and see if this helps.

I am trying to find out how to force a lower remote bitrate. at the moment, the lowest I've found is 2mbps (in the plexconnect/ATV settings menu), and I have a 1mbps line... So I'm actually looking for 360p as an option.

Any one with ideas?

Would need a couple of changes in ATVSettings as well as XMLConverter.py...

Thanks. I'll give it a look.

Hi. Tried it out, didn't have much luck. Left it for now. I'm apparently not quite as skilled at python as I thought I was, and haven't had time to give it a deeper look.

Thanks
