Where is my tuner?

Server Version#: 1.20.1.3252 via SNAP
Ubuntu Linux 20.04.1
Linux 5.4.0-392007061620-generic on x86_64
Tuner Make/Model: WinTV quadHD pcie

I powered off the machine. Added the card. Powered on the machine. Plex didnt see the device. Installed PPA, ran update. Restarted PMS. Still nothing. Installed linux-mediatree && linux-firmware-hauppauge. Restarted PMS. Still nothing. I did check dmesg | grep -i dvb and the tuners are showing up. Plex doesnt see the tuner however. Im sure im just missing something really dumb and not thinking. Can anyone help me?

Plex doesn’t see my tuner either after installing the last update. It seems to be common problem. There is another thread out there on this same topic.

So I’m assuming now after 3 days that I’m not getting help on this? It’s a premium feature with a premium license. The video group doesn’t work because this is a SNAP install.

Just as I thought my server upgrade was moving along this happens.

Have you considered dropping the Snap app and going with the native server?

From what i am researching, its not the SNAP that is the cause. The OS can see the device fine, PMS cannot.

I also dont feel its necessary to migrate a server that is working fine for all but one option. That option should work across the board.

So is this just something I have to accept? Pass feature that doesn’t work?

Adding Plex to video group doesn’t do anything either.

Wow, this is by far the least amount of help I have seen from Plex with an issue. None of this is “one-off” and unique. Bare metal install, “supported” hardware (It says plex on the box and the website), installed via SNAP. Yet the premium features dont work and no one has bothered to help with finding a solution.

So now what? Wait for another update to break something else and fix this issue? Or is this issue even being addressed?
