I finally got it figured out. How ever after I watch for a while plex stalls out. I try to stop the video and go back to the app but it just shoes the loading icon and says accesing trailers until I go to my Mac and wake the computer up. In fact it does this with all streaming apps. What gives?
Well, PlexConnect needs a "living" server. A sleepy Mac won't cut it I guess.
As aTV now uses your Mac a DNS (domain name server), all other apps rely on the same... no good to have it the host sleeping - or off, sorry.
Though your Mac shouldn't fall asleep as long as Plex/PMS pulls data. Don't know why that happens...
I’ve had similar issues a long time ago when I was setting things up, ended up setting my Mac mini to never sleep… The thing has a very low TDP anyway, 35W I think. Doesn’t change much.
