Where is the Screensaver?

Using Plex on LG OLED Tv with Shield TV. I have searched high and low. I se that there USED TO BE a screensaver years ago. Where has it gone. OLED tv’s need to have a screen saver when playing music. Why has this been removed from Plex? Or is it just hidden somewhere? Thanks

I’m a bit confused as for your setup?
Do I read this correct?

  • Your Plex Media Server is running on a Synology NAS
  • You’re using the Plex client app on your Nvidia Shield which is connected to an LG OLED TV

IIRC the Android TV client has no app specific screensaver settings.
You should instead use the screensaver of the Android TV system itself.

Plex for Android TV 8.31.0.31215

The Shield screensaver kicks in at the configured time. Music keeps playing in the Plex app.

Plex for LG 5.33.1.

In the LG Plex app: Settings → Experience → Screensaver

I’ve no music on my Plex server, so do not know what happens when playing music with the app (or if the LG screensaver will also kick in).

Edit: Loaded a few songs on the server. Both the Plex and the LG screensavers kick in. Pressing BACK on the remote exits the LG screensaver. Pressing it again exits the Plex screensaver. I’m sure other buttons work as well. I was just testing when the screensavers kicked in.
