Hi there!
I have been looking for this a long time now and haven’t found an answer yet:
Which plex client box or Plex-software is able to output the native / original size of a video file through HDMI, so it is not upscaled?
Why am I asking this?
I am planning to buy a Panasonic OLED in the next few months, with an Oppo 203 or 205 Ultra HD Blu Ray Player.
The Panasonic TV is very very good at upscaling lower resolutions to 4K. The Oppo (which has an HDMI input) is also very good at upscaling. The majority of my movies is in DVD format. So I want the best quality possible when watching DVD material on my future 4K TV.
So I want Plex to output video through HDMI as is: 480p, 576p, 720p, 1080p
I was really close buying the nVidia Shield TV as it also has Netflix and Amazon Prime, but now read that its internal upscaling isn’t any good and cannot be disabled.
Which way should I go to accomplish this? I haven’t found any settings in Plex Media Player for Windows or Raspberry Pi to get this functionality.
Please help, and let me know,
Thx,
Chris
