Hey everyone, I signed up for the Plex Cloud beta as soon as it was available, but I’ve still yet to get anything.
I’ve heard about it just appearing on people’s accounts, but for me, nothing.
Who do I have to ask to get access to the Plex Cloud Beta?
There isn’t anyone to ask other than filling out the invite form.
More invites will start being released on the 5th
Dang @hthighway beat me to it!
Yes, we will begin inviting more users into the beta on December 5th. Can’t guarantee you will get your invite exactly on the 5th, but we do want to get people in to test with a larger audience. It won’t be too much longer from here.
@kinoCharlino any chance of a cheeky bump? I’ve had a Lifetime Plex Pass since 2014

I’m all for being cheeky
but if we bumped you, then we’d have a ton more folks asking (and expecting) to be bumped.
I’m curious to try it out as well to see how it behaves. Especially that now multiple cloud storage providers are supported which as I understand it you can mix as Library sources.

Yes you can point multiple cloud storage providers to any library. Once they are linked, they are treated like mounted drives.
I’d like to know just how “unlimited” you plan to be. I have my eye on the Amazon Drive. For sixty bucks (US) a year, they offer unlimited storage. At least I think it’s unlimited. I already have 11 T of stored video. My alternative is to build a NAS with 18 T effective (with a RAID 5 configuration). Do you think you’ll be able to handle that?

Note that the “unlimited” is an “Amazon” (or other provider) function and has nothing to do with Plex directly. Amazon’s “unlimited” really does seem to be unlimited.
To use the “Plex Cloud” the media files stored in the cloud must be unencrypted. That is a problem for some people and some (mostly those that have media they do not own) even think that it could cause copyright challenges and that Amazon might consider some files a violation of their TOS.
Also, currently, “Plex Cloud” is problematic for a lot of us. They have a “feature” called “rate limiting” that makes streaming from Amazon unstable and effectively unusable for a lot of us particularly on some clients. My Rokus are almost impossible to use. The other clients do not seem to have as much of a problem but they are also much more costly.
For now my plans are to keep my library local for my primary usage. But I will continue testing and if the “rate limiting” problem gets solved I may move everything to Amazon.
I do not have the security concerns that others have voiced.
