Will Santa bring me Plex Cloud for Christmas?

I signed up for it.
I asked nicely if I could get access.
But still no Plex Cloud for me, just reminders of which data providers are not supported.
Lean Startup 101 get stuff out to people, especially the ones who are friendly and asking, to collect data.
If that doesn’t work I’m going to resort to writing to Santa again.

maybe, but not for amazon cloud drive, that’s a certainty

I am annoyed a little because I keep getting the emails saying I need the plex pass. I see it shows I get plex cloud with the premium pass so I pay for it and yet now it says I have to wait for a beta invite? Little bummed I payed now.

@evilrut - According to your forum profile, you don’t have a Plex Pass. Also, I don’t know where you saw that Plex Cloud is included with a Plex Pass. The announcement for it clearly states it is an invite only beta for now. You will need the Plex Pass once you are invited.

Well then maybe Santa Plex will invite me to the Plex Cloud Beta… my body is ready (closes eyes and listens to chirping hard drives in the sky).

Thanks for the update about Amazon Drive. Real bummer, but understandable.

chirping hard drives? Well, I guess it’s better than clicking hard drives. :open_mouth:

Already have 16TB on the google drive and 70TB local. Hope i get an invite soon. Will provide all the feedback i can give.

Plex cloud is officially dead you can’t use it with Amazon drive anymore so unless you’re willing to pay over $100 a month for anything over a terabyte of storage. This sucks I was really looking forward to using it and I have over 6 TB on Amazon drive right now

Dropbox Business is $75 for 5 user minimum. Unlimited storage (not sure about transfers). Hosting/serving is expensive. You can’t expect truly “unlimited” storage for $60/yr from Amazon. It’s “unlimited” the way cell providers have “unlimited” plans. That is, unlimited for the average person. Most people here (particularly Plex Pass people) are outliers when it comes to media libraries.

And Google Drive is $50/month for 5 users minimum to get an unlimited storage or $10 per user a month. Quality is great on Plex and also you get your files available very easily. I’m uploading to GD at 4tb per day (max of my ISP) so i’d say it is fairly good and reliable for me.

I paid last month and let is lapse since i couldnt use cloud. Also it clearly shows it on the comparison page here :https://www.plex.tv/features/plex-pass/ as a feature if you have a plex pass, no where on that page does it say you need an invite. So don’t be an unhelpful smartass dude. I didn’t think I had to investigate it further until it didn’t work for me.

I don’t see Plex Cloud listed. There is Cloud Sync, which is a different feature. If you go to the page describing Plex Cloud, https://www.plex.tv/cloud/, it clearly states it is an invite only.

I do not see anything on the page you linked about “Plex Cloud” there is “Cloud Sync” but that is a completely different thing.

All the info I have ever seen about Plex Cloud said that it was/is in a limited beta and some of the places had a link to a form to fill out for asking for a invite into the beta.

To be honest the beta is more of an alpha and Amazon has been completely removed and will be no longer supported.

You may get an invite if you filled out the form because a number of us have had to drop out due to the loss of the promised Amazon integration but you will need a Plex Pass in order to use it if you do because it is a Plex Pass only feature.

Does it use your own storage too when your data stored @ g.drive?

No, it’s at 86TB total at the time. Now it’s at 92TB. I use GoodSync to offload content from the local to the G-Drive.
