In Netflix now when you set up an account you can add family members. When you sign in you select which family member is watching. I would like a similar feature in Plex. I know Plex has login's, but take this example.
We have Plex set up in the living room. My wife and I sit down to watch a show. I would like Plex to ask who's watching. We would answer Justin / Katie. Then when we watch a show the show is marked as watched on both of our accounts.
Now I log in on my computer and watch a show and its just me. I say i am watching and then it marks the show as watched by me, but Katie still shows the show as un-watched.
Really the only feature that is missing is the ability to mark multiple people watching. This would be nice in a home entertainment area so that you keep accurate watch records.
Create an account for each person, share libraries with them, force to log in their account and each will only have their watched and unwatched list, their own deck and so on. That's how it is done for now. So you don't know who has watched what unless you log into their account but at least if one person has seen it, it doesn't marked it as watched for all accounts.
I think the useful thing would be for plex to allow a PIN code for each users that refers to an account and doesn't require to enter email address and password.

Using a Plex Account for each person you can then use PlexWatch and PlexWatchWeb to keep track of who's watching/watched what.
Yes that is if they are currently watching something, I meant you won't know what they have watched or not already if they are not watching anything at the moment.

PlexWatchWeb gives you History, you can see who watched what, at what time, on which device, etc. uses the PlexWatch database.

This would be useful in my setup, quite often the whole family (4 people, each with own plex account) watch a TV show together, however it only marks it as watched on the person who is signed in, I don't really see how the 'mark multiple people as watching' could be implemented without just being a PITA for the vast majority of people.

You don't have to require it. This is exactly what i am looking for though. If multiple people sit down to watch something then we are all watching it not just who's logged in.
