This has been a running issue with our house for a while now, so I figured I may as well drop a line to see if any others are having a similar problem or if it’s something that’s already been raised.
So, I run a media server for the house, and everyone has their own accounts attached to the home. When we want to watch something we pull up the plex app on our TV, and we’re good to go. Except for one stumbling block: we always hesitate when it comes to which user we pick. Because only one user is tagged for a stream, the watch history is only saved for one person, even if multiple people are watching. This ends up leading to confusion if one of us watches ahead of the other or what not, as the person without the updated watch history then has to think over what was the last episode watched, essentially overturning the system.
So, even if it’s just limited to users attached to the plex home (which is something easily accessed I’d believe), it would be nice if on the control bar there would be a small person icon that you could select to tag other users as watching, so the watch progress is properly mirrored. It would be a small QoL improvement that would bring a lot to the table, at least in my experience.
