Please help me. There are no tutorials to help me with the problem I’m having. I have the lifetime plex pass, set up my server and have the windows application for both plex and plex server. I can see my server is available in settings. Why is there just no option to download anything in plex?
The option just straight up doesn’t exist? I’ve tried re-installing, making a different managed account to do it. I’ve tried it on multiple devices. Nothing is working. I’m extremely frustrated with the support pages because they all just say “click the download button on the film you want to download” I WOULD LOVE TO IF THAT BUTTON EXISTED!!!
oh wow thanks for helping. like i didnt already read through that 34 times. I’ve done everything that all the support pages say and it still doesnt show. Maybe my account just doesnt show i have plex pass?
When did you buy the Plex Pass?
The apps and server must contact plex.tv to even know of its existence. Best way to force this is to logout/login on client apps and stop/starting the server.
You can only download from your own server.
You cannot download from your Watchlist or from the ad-supported “Movies & Shows on Plex” library.
You can only download from shared servers if their owner has explicitly granted you permission to do so.
Only “Plex for Windows/Mac/Linux” is supporting downloads.
“Plex HTPC” or the “Plex Web” app do not support downloads.
I bought the pass like 2 days ago. The server and apps are perfectly fine.
I’ve restarted them, ended the tasks, logged out logged in. rebooting the server.
I’m only trying to download from my own server, not from the watchlist but from just the main page.
I’m not trying to download from shared servers.
I’m only using the plex for windows app
The one which is hosted on your own Plex server.
(If you have actually created one, after installing the server software.)
To do so, you need to have the media files stored on your own computer.
This feature is not for obtaining media which you don’t own.
