Why can't I sign into my local Plex server when the Internet is down?

I have a local Plex server. In the past, I could still sign into my Plex server using a web browser even when the internet was down. Today, I tried that, and it just kept complaining that it couldn’t complete the login without Internet. That’s ridiculous. Sure, the various non-local streaming aspects would understandably be inaccessible, but there’s no reason for me to not be able to log in and access my local content.

Consider this my bug report, since there doesn’t seem to be an issue tracker.

Because the devs have fully f***d up the architecture. Plex needs an online connection.

What is it with people moaning all the time. Do something useful and read the FAQ.

List of IP addresses and networks that are allowed without auth

Yes that will work as long as your server has a good plex_online_token. BUT if your system has plex home you lose all parental control! So your Grandkids or children will have full access to anything on your server Murder, Drugs, Monsters, basically the things you never wish for them to see. This is not acceptable to most people.

By the way that GOOD TOKEN if you lose internet and your token needs to be updated you are SOL. Which happened to me and lasted for a week, no internet!
