I understand Plex allows Thumbs to be created and stored for every Movie/Tv show/Media one has that is added to the Plex Server Database. Not only is this time consuming if one has a very large Media library but also adds to NAS storage usage. I notice I have many other apps like Roku’s Live TV dynamically creates Thumbs on the fly when FF or REW so can anyone tell me why Plex Server cannot do the same creating Thumbs dynamically when playing media and if not why not?
First, how do you enable this feature and second how can it “KILL” the HD Space if the thumbs are dynamically made and then deleted once the media is done playing? thx
