When trying to watch my recordings on my roku they have no sounds but I can watch them with no issues on other devices such as my computer.
I am having the same issue. I can watch my Plex DVR Recordings on my PC using the Browser. But when I watch it from my NVidia Shield there is no sound. I am on 1.11.0.4666 on a windows 10 server using the HDHomeRun Prime with a CableCard for my recordings.
Have you tried turning it off and on again?
I have this issue infrequently on my Roku Premiere. Restarting it fixes the issue.
I just tried from my Roku TV and that played the recording without issue. From my Shield TV I tried and it didn’t work, so I tried restarting the Shield TV and it still didn’t work.
Is it possible that Plex is attempting to play the Spanish language track by default, but your program has a blank track? I have multiple devices getting Spanish instead of English, and in a few cases that track is silent, so I have no sound at all.
There is no way to my knowledge to change the audio track for Live TV (which is just exhausting in this scenario), but you might see if there are multiple audio tracks on the recordings, and try the other one. I can’t remember if there’s an option there. and I can’t check my Plex server right now.
I just fixed this on my shield TV. Within the plex app I had to go into settings and then under advanced I had to update pass-through to be disabled (it was set to auto). Not sure if that applies to your Roku issue as well or not but worth checking.
most of my shows and movies are 5.1 which play fine through my AVR but I was getting no sound from the bed room TV. Changed the roku settings from direct to auto and sound worked in bed room.
Ahrg this is so frustrating. After the v1.13.2.5154 server update I have recordings that dont play sound on Roku but do on other devices. On the Roku audio settings if I change the HDMI output to PCM I get sound but I presume this means I’ll only get stereo even for 5.1 media?
No, PCM can pass more than stereo, so 5.1 should be fine via PCM.
